Beekeepers have a centuries-old tradition of moving their
hives an inch to notify the bees of the death of a family member. Today three beekeeping
families are moving hives due to the death of 19-year-old Ashlyn McGehee. The sudden,
accidental loss of Ashlyn stuns and saddens the McGehee, Anderson, and
Underhill families. The beautiful, athletic, and talented Ashlyn, a student of
Western Kentucky University, could often be found with her cousins, Ethan and
