The K-wing condition is often a symptom of a bee that is in distress. This may be a symptom of the result of tracheal mites, Nosema disease, or some of the honey bee viral diseases. When I see bees with k-wing, I also look for bees crawling on the ground, another symptom of distressed bees. If there seems to be a significant numbers of bees showing K-wing, tracheal mites and Nosema disease are revealed with a microscopic view of dissected bees.<br />--RichardRichard Underhillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00014016516339819639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712110501673732079.post-41803392420416891412011-03-29T11:40:22.849-05:002011-03-29T11:40:22.849-05:00Great picture.. love seeing the different levels o...Great picture.. love seeing the different levels of development!Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17159095601570766616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712110501673732079.post-917740150015716212011-03-29T10:27:48.449-05:002011-03-29T10:27:48.449-05:00Nice picture. One bee isn't enough for conclusive proof, but just something I noticed, since you took such a nice hi-res and detailed photo.Chuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08726759579239464095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712110501673732079.post-8758731336532863392011-03-29T07:49:10.049-05:002011-03-29T07:49:10.049-05:00enjoyed this hive inspection. great shot capturing...enjoyed this hive inspection. great shot capturing the progression of bee development. The Starved Idiothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09687455585038744083noreply@blogger.com
